Hey y'all! We've got some awesome updates for you on what's been happening in the KIPP community!

KIPP in the Community - May 2020

First up, let's talk about the May 2020 edition of KIPP in the Community! We've been keeping busy, adapting to the new challenges posed by the pandemic and finding ways to continue supporting our students and families. We're proud to report that we've been offering free grab-and-go meals at all of our campuses, as well as setting up virtual learning environments to keep our students engaged and on track.

But that's not all! We've also been collaborating with local organizations to provide additional support and resources to our families. For example, we partnered with World Central Kitchen to distribute hot meals to families in need, and worked with Comcast to provide free internet access to eligible households.

KIPP in the Community: Fall 2020

We've got even more exciting news for you - our Fall 2020 edition of KIPP in the Community is out! This issue highlights the resilience and strength of our students and teachers as they navigate the challenges of the pandemic. From virtual classrooms to drive-by graduations, our KIPPsters have been showing us what it means to persevere in the face of adversity.

We're also proud to share how our alumni have been giving back to their communities. For example, KIPP DC College Prep graduate Thaddeus Settles started his own non-profit, Free Minds Book Club & Writing Workshop, which aims to reduce recidivism and support incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people in pursuing their education and career goals.

And of course, we couldn't do all of this without the support of our amazing KIPP DC community - our families, donors, and partners. Thank you for standing with us and helping us continue to provide high-quality education and support to our students, no matter the circumstances.
